Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe vs Galaxy Note 7 vs iPhone 6s Plus: Battle of premium.
Asus has announced its flagship smartphone, Zenfone 3 Deluxe at a hefty price tag of Rs 62,999. With Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Asus is changing the idea behind Zenfone series. Asus Zenfone series has been known for its premium segment specifications but mid-budget price. Now that the equation has changed altogether, Asus is going after flagship smartphones like Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Note 7, Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7 range.
Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe: The smartphone is the first smartphone in India to feature Qualcomm’s updated Snapdragon 821 chipset. The Snapdragon 821 is 10 per cent faster than the Snapdragon 820 processor. While you may not experience the difference in processing speed, Qualcomm says the battery life will be significantly better than Snapdragon 820 chipset.
Asus also claims to offer better camera than the competition thanks to Sony’s IMX318 image sensor. The sensor used here is 23MP in resolution with f/2.0 aperture and optical image stabilisation. Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe also claims to have the fastest laser autofocus of 0.03 second and 32 second long exposure. The camera also supports 4K video recording.
In order to help you simplify that decision, here is a handy comparison of Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe with its three strongest competitors.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7: The latest in the Note series offers everything premium that a smartphone has to offer. It features a 5.7-inch Quad HD display protected by latest Corning Gorilla Glass 5. According to DisplayMate, Galaxy Note 7’s display is the best ever packed into a smartphone. It scores high on crispiness, colour reproduction, saturation and brightness.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is powered by Exynos 8890 processor, which offers superior performance and seamless experience even with multiple apps running in the background. The smartphone may not have 6GB RAM but it will definitely offer great performance with superior integration between hardware and software.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is priced at Rs 59,990 and will go on sale from September 2. Read our first impressions here.

Apple iPhone 6s Plus: Apple iPhone 6s Plus, in our opinion, is the most dependable smartphone out there. Apple iPhone 7 Plus seamless blends hardware and software package into one nice and useful combination. Apple iPhone 6s Plus’ display may not be the most pixel dense out there yet offers good viewing angles and natural colour reproduction.
Apple iPhone 6s Plus’ 12MP rear camera combined with OIS makes for an excellent smartphone camera. The camera is fast and clicks picture in great detail. The smartphone also has one of the best app ecosystem out there. Google Gboard keyboard, Prisma and many other apps have landed on iOS first and Android later. Apple iPhone 6s Plus packs a 2,750mAh battery but easily gets past a day full of heavy usage. Read our full review here.
