Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro reaches India for testing

Samsung’s ever growing line up of smartphones in India is ready to get still bigger, with the Galaxy C9 Pro spotted on Indian imports tracker website, Zauba. The phone was made official by the company last week after it was featured on China’s online e-commerce platform. Galaxy C9 Pro is coming at a crucial time for Samsung, even as the South Korean tech giant is reeling from big losses due to the recall and cancellation of the Galaxy Note 7 program.

The Zauba listing on the device shows the phone as a device code ‘SM-C7010’ and is listed as ‘for testing’ devices. Four devices have been shipped on October 26, and are listed as Rs 13,645 each. However, it has always been noted that prices displayed on Zauba are almost never the true price for devices in India. The regular Galaxy C7 is priced close to Rs 29,000, which clearly means that the price on Zauba is not representative of its market value.
Galaxy C9 Pro will be the first Samsung smartphone to feature 6GB RAM. The phone comes with a 6-inch full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 processor, comes with 64GB of internal storage and is 4G VoLTE compatible. The dual SIM phone comes with a 16MP primary camera with a f/1.9 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and a phase detection autofocus. The front shooter on the device is also a 16MP camera with the same aperture.

The phone weighs 190 grams, and features connectivity via Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-FI 802.11ac, NFC and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Galaxy C9 Pro is available for preorder in China at 3,199 Yuan (approx Rs 31,990) and will be available starting November 11. The phone is available in 2 colour variants – Gold and Rose Gold. There has been no official word on the Galaxy C9 Pro launching in any other markets yet.
