Samsung's Galaxy S8 'Plus' to have a bezel-less, 6.3-inch display
Samsung will be reeling from the disaster that was Galaxy Note 7 for quite some time, and the only comfort appears to be the next phone from the Korean company. The next Samsung flagship, which should be named Galaxy S8 going by Samsung's family tree, has been appearing in news more frequently now. According to a new report coming from Korea, the Galaxy S8 'Plus' will have a massive 6.3-inch, bezel-less display.
The Galaxy S8 rumours had started coming in long before the launch of Galaxy Note 7, and by now there are enough rumours to support an imaginary smartphone. The latest reports are saying that there will be no 5.1-inch model in the next year's Galaxy phone, instead the company will launch two phones with 5.7-inch and 6.3-inch display.
Some more reports have suggested that while both the phones will carry a curved display, the bigger phone will have 90 per cent screen-to-body ration. This means there will be almost no bezels on it, something which Xiaomi recently did with the Mi Mix concept phone.
It has been reported earlier that Samsung will be making two Galaxy S8 phones, just like every year, but there will be no 'Edge' variant. Considering Samsung already dropped the Edge moniker with the launch of Note 7, it is a good possibility that there will be no Galaxy S8 Edge. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus seem possible though.
The upcoming Galaxy S8 phone is also rumoured to have 4K resolution and a dual-camera setup on the back. SamMobile earlier said that there will be a 12-megapixel accompanied by another 13-megapixel camera sensor on the back. The S8 is expected to come with an 8-megapixel camera on the front.
The phone is expected to dump the 3.5mm audio jack, which is becoming a new trend in the smartphone market. Since the Galaxy Note 7 came with a USB Type-C connector, we expect Samsung to continue the feature in the next phones.
Another thing that is quite likely to be featured in the Samsung Galaxy S8 is 6GB RAM. Most new smartphones have bumped the RAM to 6GB, so Samsung may also want to try that.
While we suggest you to take all these reports with a pinch of salt, the Samsung's Galaxy S8 is confirmed to get the company's very own artificial intelligence assistant, something similar to Apple's Siri.
Samsung in October acquired Viv Labs, a firm by co-creator of Siri. Samsung plans to integrate the voice assistant, named Viv, into its future phones and also in home appliances and wearable technology devices.
