OnePlus may be working on a new sandstone variant of the OnePlus 5T

The OnePlus 5T is going places. It's getting new variants by the day too. Soon after launching a lava red edition and a Star Wars Limited edition, OnePlus is hinting at a new possible variant of the OnePlus 5T, one that would bring back the company's signature sandstone finish. Note that the Star Wars Limited edition of the OnePlus 5T has a sandstone finish as well - and it comes in white - so chances are OnePlus may be looking to offload the Star Wars tag off it and launch a white sandstone variant of the OnePlus 5T with broader availability. Or it may launch a whole new product or accessory, we do not know for sure yet.
OnePlus has taken to its official YouTube channel to tease a new product that it would launch sometime in January 2018. The video - titled 'What's in the box?' -- shows people feeling a mystery product inside a covered box with the OnePlus logo. Although it's never revealed what lies inside the box, people feeling it have things like smooth, a little bit textured, like a stone and quite grippy, to say about it. One of them, in fact, goes on to say, "It might be the OnePlus One Sandstone" leaving nothing to the imagination. Still, we'll have to wait and watch, what OnePlus has in store for us in January.
OnePlus, to recall, launched a Colette edition of the OnePlus 3T and followed it up with a Midnight Black Limited edition which was essentially the same phone without the Colette engraving. OnePlus may do something similar with the Star Wars Limited edition of the OnePlus 5T as well and launch a white sandstone variant of the phone minus the Star Wars razzmatazz.
The OnePlus 5T was originally launched in Midnight Black in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM options. The Star Wars Limited edition however shipped with 8GB RAM alone. It would be interesting to see whether the upcoming sandstone variant of the OnePlus 5T will also do something similar.
The OnePlus 5T, that has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 32,999 , brings in some useful upgrades over the company's (now) last-generation flagship phone, the OnePlus 5. It comes with a 6.01-inch full-HD Optic AMOLED display with an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9 which invariably means that it's a near bezel-less phone. The OnePlus 5T houses a new dual camera system wherein the secondary telephoto lens of the OnePlus 5 has been switched with a standard lens with a larger f/1.7 aperture to aid in low-light photography. Elsewhere, the OnePlus 5T also supports a face unlock feature akin to the iPhone X without deploying additional tech. The OnePlus 5T also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Rest of the deal stays put. The OnePlus 5T , much like the OnePlus 5, comes with a full-metal body, OnePlus 5's characteristic Alert Slider which is basically a quick notification toggle (all, priority, and none) to quickly sort your app notifications, USB Type-C port for charging and data-syncing purposes, a bottom-facing speaker out, a 3.5mm audio jack and dual-SIM (nano-SIM) support.
Just like the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T is powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clubbed with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The phone runs Android Nougat-based Oxygen OS and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery with support for OnePlus' Dash charging.
